Following Toy Story’s 3 release in 2010 and its finale scene showing the toys’ owner Andy leaving for college and donating Woody, Buzz and all his toys, few people would have anticipated there would be a Toy Story 4. In june 2019, Toy Story 4 was released in cinemas, and I found this picture fun, deeply moving and profound. Toy Story can appeal to children and grown ups alike thanks to Pixar’s ability to offer meaning on different levels for audiences of all ages.
Toy Story deals above all with the characters’ journey and its evolution, we watch them mature, have a change of motivations and desires or discovering their new purpose (as seen in Toy Story 4). The Toy Story franchise also embodies the evolution of technology and the major advances and progress achieved in the last recent decade.
On this occasion I chose to represent my own story with the Toy Story franchise and how I grew up with it in a way, from watching my first VHS tape to nowadays.
